A cafe print of five striped espresso cups stacked into a leaning tower that looks one nudge from falling. CAFFÈ is set behind them in fat orange letters, half hidden by the cups.
About the artwork
Each cup is drawn in black outline and filled with vertical black stripes, so the stack reads as texture before it reads as objects. The stack tips to the left and the handles point in different directions, which is what creates the sense of imminent collapse. The orange type sits behind rather than above, so the two layers overlap. Portrait.
Why you'll love it
- Movement in a still image. The tilt does more work than any amount of detail would.
- Black stripes read from far away. High contrast means it still works at the end of a long room.
- Built as a set. Every design in the food and drink series shares the same cream ground and paper, so any combination lines up.
- A gift for a cafe or a home barista. Stacked cups are the sight behind every counter.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The vertical stack suits a tall narrow wall — beside a fridge, at the end of a galley kitchen, or in the gap between a window and a corner. Because the black stripes are busy, keep the frame plain and give it space rather than crowding it with other prints. In a commercial setting it holds a wall behind a counter well at the largest sizes.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Between cabinets or above a counter, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a dining table or sideboard, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and fit standard frames. Choose a framed canvas if you would rather skip the framing shop.
Can I hang more than one together? Yes. The food and drink prints share one palette and one paper, so two or three hang as a matched set.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.
Paper weight, inks, frame details and care are all in our Material Guide.

Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.

- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
