One house style
Scale is where most living room walls go wrong. A piece hung above a sofa should span roughly two thirds of the sofa's width; anything much narrower reads as an afterthought. Leave a hand's width between the top of the sofa back and the bottom of the frame. If one piece is not wide enough, a pair or a row of three at equal spacing solves it and often looks more deliberate. Hang the centre of the group at eye height for someone standing, and the whole wall settles.
