A Yayoi Kusama inspired orange net and lips print in a portrait layout. Thick orange lines divide a deep red field into an irregular network of cells. A small blue-toned fragment of a face enters from the top edge, with dark lips and a pale chin interrupting the otherwise continuous warm pattern.
About the artwork
The net occupies nearly all of the artwork panel, so the cropped facial detail is a small surprise rather than a full portrait. The orange strokes have softly uneven edges, and the enclosed red shapes vary in angle and size. The cool blue and green tones around the mouth stand apart from the orange-red surface below. Beneath the panel, a broad cream area carries bold black lettering, a vertical Japanese name and four printed colour circles. This lower section gives the dense mesh a clear resting point within the composition.
The lower lettering reads YAYOI KUSAMA, 草間彌生 and INFINITY-NETS SSOP, 2016. Any lettering is part of the printed design. Names, dates and institutional wording are decorative elements, not a statement of exhibition history or affiliation. This is an independent print inspired by the style of Yayoi Kusama. It is not an original artwork, reproduction, or licensed product, and it is not made by, sold by, or affiliated with the artist or their studio.
Why you'll love it
- A subtle surreal detail. The small mouth and chin bring an unexpected figure into an all-over net pattern.
- Warm colour with structure. Orange outlines and deep red cells add texture without a conventional landscape subject.
- A distinctive gift. A choice for someone who enjoys graphic interiors and unusual visual details.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Hang it above a walnut cabinet or near terracotta ceramics in a dining area. A natural or espresso frame works with the warm palette, while a small blue object can echo the cropped face. Keep surrounding artwork open and simple so the fine cells have their own space. It also works beside a desk where the small detail at the top is easy to notice.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is the frame shown in the room photos included? The room photos show styling examples. Paper prints arrive rolled and unframed; choose a framed canvas option for a solid wood floating frame.
Does the print show a complete face? No. Only a small cropped portion around the mouth and chin appears at the upper edge; the orange-red net is the main motif.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.
