The best gifts for travel lovers are the ones that keep a trip in the room after the tan fades. A framed travel print of a place they actually stood in does that for less than a dinner out: paper prints start at $26, 13 sizes fit anything from a desk to a stairwell, and every piece is printed to order.
Why a print beats another luggage tag
Most travel gifts are consumed and forgotten: packing cubes, a power bank, a scratch map that never gets scratched. A print is the opposite. It goes on a wall the person walks past every day, and it names a specific place: Positano, not "Italy"; the Valley of the Ten Peaks at Moraine Lake, not "mountains."
That specificity is what makes travel wall art work as a gift. You are not guessing at taste in the abstract. You are choosing the one city or park they will not stop talking about, and the choice itself says you listened.
Match the print to the traveler
Start with how they travel, not where. The table below pairs six common traveler types with a print, a starting size, and a price for the paper version. All eight prints are vertical. The city prints share one size ladder (8×12, 12×18, 16×24, 20×30, 24×36 inches); the Yosemite print runs on the 3:4 ladder (12×16, 18×24, 24×32, 30×40), which is why its smallest size and price differ.
| They are the kind who… | Give them | Why it lands | Start at | From |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Books the Amalfi trip every summer | Positano, Amalfi Coast | Coral houses, the majolica dome, a lemon branch up close: the view from the cliff path, not the postcard | 12×18 in | $26 |
| Keeps a running list of European capitals | Paris rooftops | Two thirds zinc roofs and chimney pots, the Eiffel Tower kept small. Reads as a resident's Paris, not a tourist's | 12×18 in | $26 |
| Chases islands and blue water | Santorini, Oia | Three blue-domed churches stepping down the caldera, a palette held to four colors | 12×18 in | $26 |
| Has a favorite American city | Statue of Liberty or Cloud Gate, Chicago | Both drawn from where a visitor actually stands: the harbor approach, the plaza in Millennium Park | 12×18 in | $26 |
| Would rather hike than sightsee | Yosemite, WPA style | El Capitan and the falls as a 1930s park notice, with the National Park Service bison roundel at the base | 12×16 in | $31 |
| Went to Canada once and never recovered | Banff, Moraine Lake | Painted rather than flattened; the water carries two blues, milky at the shore and deep turquoise in the middle | 12×18 in | $26 |
Eight travel prints that make good gifts
These are the prints we would put in front of a gift buyer first. Each note comes from the artwork itself, so you know what the recipient will actually see on the wall.
Europe
- Positano, Amalfi Coast. Coral and apricot houses stacked up the mountainside, the tiled church dome catching light, boats on turquoise water. The lemon branch in the bottom corner throws the village into the middle distance. Best for a kitchen or bathroom; it is the warmest print in the set.
- Paris, France. A rooftop view where the Haussmann roofscape takes most of the frame and the tower stands clear in a narrow column. Blue-grey zinc, terracotta chimney pots. Suits a bedroom or a quiet reading corner.
- Santorini, Greece. Oia from the rim of the caldera: cobalt domes, cream plaster, a single sailboat on deep blue. Flat vector shapes in the language of the classic travel poster. Hang it where there is natural light.
- Lisbon, Portugal. Three yellow trams working a curve of track between azulejo-tiled facades, with the Tagus flat and blue at the bottom of the hill. The busiest composition in the Europe travel wall art collection, and the one that rewards a closer look.
- Venice, Italy. A side canal at dusk in dusty coral, faded rose and cream, the water a cool jade. The only print in the collection built on pink, so it pairs with softer rooms.
North America
- Statue of Liberty, New York City. Drawn from the water on the approach: verdigris figure, gold torch flame, the star fort below, Manhattan low and hazy on the left. Three blocks of color, cobalt harbor flecked with white. Part of the USA travel wall art collection.
- Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco. Seen from the sand at the south end of the strait, the far tower half-lost in haze, black rocks and white surf in front. Vermilion bridge, teal water. A good pick for a home office.
- Yosemite National Park, WPA style. Yosemite Valley with El Capitan and the falls in six or seven flat colors, laid out like a real 1930s park notice down to the ranger-walk listings. Yosemite Falls drops 2,425 feet, the tallest waterfall in North America, according to the National Park Service. For the friend who collects parks, this is the doorway into the full US national parks wall art series, 63 parks in matching styles.
Getting size and finish right
Three decisions, in order:
- Size. When you do not know their wall, 12×18 inches is the safe gift size: large enough to read across a room, small enough to find a spot for. 8×12 works on a desk or shelf; 16×24 and 18×24 are sofa-and-bed territory. Exact wall measurements are in our wall art size guide.
- Finish. Paper (from $26) is the flexible choice, because the recipient picks their own frame. Matte canvas (12×16 from $64) arrives ready to hang with no glass and no glare. Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural is the no-effort option: out of the box and onto the nail.
- Orientation. Every print in this guide is vertical. If the wall is long and low, above a sofa or a headboard, look at the horizontal prints instead.
Give a set, not a single print
Travel prints are drawn as a series, so three of them hang together without any planning. Sets also cost less: a discount applies automatically at checkout, 7% off for two prints and 10% off for three or more, with no code to type.
| Set | Prints | Where it hangs |
|---|---|---|
| Grand tour | Paris rooftops · London from the river · Lisbon trams | A hallway or stairwell, in a row at eye level |
| Coast to coast (Europe) | Positano · Santorini · Venice | Bathroom or bedroom; the palettes step from warm coral to cool cobalt to pink |
| Coast to coast (USA) | Golden Gate · Cloud Gate · Statue of Liberty | Dining room or home office; three cities, one flat-vector style |
| Parks person | Yosemite WPA plus two more from the same series | Cabin, den or entryway |
Keep the three prints in the same size and the same finish. Mixing 12×18 paper with 16×24 canvas reads as a mistake, not a gallery wall.
Ordering in time for the holidays
Every print is made to order. Printing takes 3 to 5 business days before it ships, and carrier transit is on top of that. Shipping is free across the US and a flat $5 everywhere else. For December delivery, order early in the month rather than waiting for the last week; current delivery estimates and the damage-replacement policy are in the FAQ.
One practical note: if you plan to give the print already framed, order the paper print first and buy the frame once it is in hand, so the frame matches the exact sheet.

FAQ
What is a good wall art gift for someone who travels a lot?
A print of one specific place they love, in a 12×18 inch paper version so they can frame it to match their home. Pick the city or park they mention most, not the most famous one.
Can I send the print directly to the recipient?
Yes. Enter their address as the shipping address at checkout. Shipping is free within the US and $5 flat to other countries.
Is there a discount for buying a set of travel prints?
Yes, and it is automatic: 7% off when the order has two prints, 10% off with three or more. No code is needed.
How long before the holidays should I order?
Printing takes 3 to 5 business days, then the parcel ships. Order in the first half of December for domestic delivery before the holidays, earlier for international addresses.
What if the print arrives damaged?
Prints damaged in transit or with a printing fault are replaced. Details and how to send photos are in the FAQ.
