A retro Tokyo print for a living room that could use some warmth. A huge red sun fills the sky behind Mount Fuji, Tokyo Tower and a red pagoda, with a shrine and city buildings gathered below. "TOKYO" runs along a red band at the foot of the sheet. It reads like a travel poster for the whole city at once.
About the artwork
The sky is yellow-orange and turquoise, and the red sun sits in it like a stamp. Mount Fuji, Tokyo Tower, a red pagoda, a shrine and a cluster of buildings are layered from back to front in the flat, graphic shapes of a retro travel print. The lettering is a single word, "TOKYO", set on a solid red band along the bottom that repeats the red of the sun above. Warm and cool colors split the sheet almost evenly. Portrait.
Why you'll love it
- The sun does the heavy lifting. A red disc this large gives the print one clear focal point, so it reads from the far side of a room.
- Old and new Tokyo in one frame. Tokyo Tower and modern buildings share the skyline with a pagoda and a shrine.
- Fuji on the horizon. Mount Fuji, Japan's highest peak at 3,776 m, sits behind the city as the calm shape in a busy scene.
- Warm and cool in balance. Red and yellow-orange are offset by turquoise sky, so it sits well with warm wood or cool gray walls.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Hang this over the sofa in a living room, where the red sun can sit near eye level. It is bright enough to carry a white or pale gray wall on its own at 24" x 36". Warm wood, a rust or mustard cushion and a low media console pick up the orange in the sky. Pair it with a plain turquoise or ink-blue abstract on the next wall so the red is not the only strong color in the room.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size works above a sofa? For a standard three-seat sofa, 24" x 36" or 30" x 40" fills the space well. Aim for the print to cover about two-thirds of the sofa's width.
What does the lettering say? Just one word, TOKYO, printed on a red band along the bottom of the design.
Which frame color suits it? A natural or espresso solid wood floating frame warms up the orange sky, while white keeps the look crisp and graphic.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.

Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
